Baby 101
Baby 101 is a comprehensive class designed to teach new expectant parents what to expect and how to care for their newborn during the first 12 weeks after the birth.
Much information is given regarding pregnancy and birth but little is mentioned about what to do once the baby arrives. Many parents are left feeling overwhelmed about how to care for this tiny creature.
As a postpartum doula, one of the things I noticed time and again was the list of questions parents had for me in the first couple of weeks after the birth. I decided to offer this class to give parents information before the baby arrives so that they would feel better prepared in caring for their newborn.
The goal of this class to help shorten the learning curve and ease the transition into parenting by providing relevant information so that new parents can relax and enjoy the newest addition to their family.
Class topics include information on caring for the new mother, breastfeeding, specifics of newborn care, including bathing, cord care, soothing techniques, swaddling, newborn reflexes and development and general newborn care.
This is an informative 3 hour class that allows ample time for questions and discussion at the end of each section. Parents will leave with the information they need to feel comfortable caring for their new baby.
Handouts included. Cost: $75 per couple for one 3-hour class
